• ALL STEEL, EVEN THE LID — Body AND friction-fit lid are genuine 304 (18/8) stainless steel. Food industry hygiene standards use 304 as their benchmark for food-contact metal. It is the costlier steel, and we use it for the lid too. No silicone gasket, no plastic clip, no seal to trap grime, no lid ridges to go mouldy. Independently lab-verified (EN 10088-1, 1.4301) — heavy metals Not Detected. Grade stamped into the lid and the base. Guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects.
• FORGOT TO DEFROST? STRAIGHT FROM THE FREEZER — Freeze a whole batch — curry, bolognese, chilli — flat in the 1.6L. Then lift the lid, set it on the hob (any type, including induction) or in the oven, start on a low heat, stir as it loosens, and bring the food right up to temperature before serving. Steel takes the freezer-to-heat jump — unlike glass, it never cracks or shatters. Freezer containers for batch cooking, minus the transfer to another pan.
• THE BATCH-COOKING SIZE — 1.6L true capacity, not a flattering nominal figure — a nominal label would say 1.8L. About three hearty servings: Sunday roast leftovers, a week's batch curry, or marinating overnight. Fits standard UK fridge shelves; same-size containers nest when empty, flat steel lids stack in one pile.
